Whenever we go out with the dogs, whether to the dog-friendly mall close to the house, or to some event like the Monument 10k in the Spring, we often are told how beautiful the dogs are and how "they would love to adopt one, but they have a cat". We happily tell them how wonderful greyhounds can be with cats- if you get the right greyhound that is, and work with a group that cat-tests each greyhound before placing them with their forever home. We have two tuxedo housecats to match our two greyhounds (we like to be a coordinated family...we used to have a fish tank with only black and white fish, too), and the greys honestly pay no attention to the cats at all. The cats, especially the boy, Domino, actually talk to the dogs as if they are human...they are so big, what else could they be? Still, people continue to find it hard to believe greyhounds can live harmoniously with cats...but now, I have the pictures to prove it! It has taken almost 3 years to capture, but I finally was able to capture the elusive greyhound/cat snuggle! BEHOLD...
Blue has found a most comfortable pillow for his nap...it even is heated for his comfort and so very soft!
Domino did not seem to mind the 70 pound greyhound's head resting on his back half...and trust me, that noggin may not be 70 pounds on it's own, but it certainly has some heft to it!
